PPC in the News: UNM fuel-cell technology honored in Japan

Pajarito Powder’s technology appears in an Albuquerque Journal article by Kevin Robinson-Avila. Avila’s coverage of UNM’s recent recognition as a technology innovater in non-platinum fuel cell technology, and of the university’s contribution to Daihatsu Motors’ automotive prototypes which incorporate UNM’s technology, showcases the commercial viability that Pajarito Powder represents in a burgeoning market.

Since over 40% of the cost of platinum-based fuel cell catalysts stems from the platinum itself, replacing the platinum with non-precious metals and other readily available substances produces a much more economical, readily attainable source of fuel cell catalyst technology for hydrogen fuel cells.
