Geoff McCool, Senior Product Engineer for Pajarito Powder, will be presenting at the upcoming Electrochemical Society Meeting in Phoenix
October 3, 2015
Geoff’s presentation, titled “Making Economical MOF-Based Precious-Metal Free Oxygen Reduction Reaction Catalysts” will be Tuesday, October 13, 2015: 14:00, in room 212-A (Phoenix Convention Center)

The performance and promise of precious metal free catalysts for the Oxygen reduction Reaction (ORR) has increased steadily with several synthesis methods approaches developed. Catalysts based on Metal-Organic-Framework (MOF) precursors have been at the forefront of non-Precious Metal Catalyst development, with a number of groups having demonstrated well-performing catalysts. A key limitation to these catalysts is the high cost of commercial MOF precursors. In an effort to reduce the cost of MOF-based ORR catalysts several groups have developed low-cost MOF synthesis.
In this presentation, we describe the scale-up and engineering for air operations of inexpensive MOF-based ORR catalysts as developed by Northeastern University and scaled to 50x by Pajarito Powder.
