June 19, 2024
Socorro, New Mexico – June 18, 2023 – Pajarito Powder, a leading provider of catalysts for electrolyzers and fuel cells in the green energy industry, participated in the Engineering Expo as part of the week-long camp “Tech Trek New Mexico” hosted by AAUW.
Van Nguyen, Anastasia Jauriqui, Molly Klein, and other representatives of Pajarito Powder showcased the company’s innovative work at the event held on June 18, 2023, at New Mexico Tech in Socorro. The team interacted with approximately 50 rising 8th grade female students who are passionate about STEM, introducing them to Pajarito Powder’s contributions to sustainable energy solutions.
During the expo, Pajarito Powder presented a captivating demonstration using a model hydrogen fuel cell car. The demonstration illustrated the electrolysis of water to generate hydrogen gas, which powered a small fuel cell that propelled the car. This hands-on exhibit provided students with a tangible example of hydrogen as an energy carrier and Pajarito Powder’s role in advancing clean energy technologies.
One of the highlights was a naming contest for the hydrogen fuel cell car. After deliberation, the winning name was revealed as “Bubblez,” a fitting choice reflecting the gas bubbles that emanate from the water electrolysis process.
Pajarito Powder is committed to inspiring the next generation of female leaders in STEM and is proud to support initiatives like Tech Trek New Mexico. The company looks forward to continued engagement with young minds interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
